Applying for Spring [Jun. 3rd, 2009|09:37 am]

I'm interested in applying for the spring semester, and I wanted to know:
1- When is the deadline? I can't seem to find information about it anywhere.
2- If I'm interested in pursuing 2-d animation, what program should I apply to? (Animation vs. Film/Animation)
3- I'm a fairly descent artist, should I include my digital work in my portfolio?
4- How is dorm life? I have relatives who live in Philly who I could stay with, but I'm not sure I want to miss out on the experience of dorm life.

Any help would be appreciated : ]
If my questions seem stupid, then don't say so XD I just need a little help, and I'm in Florida, so I can't just walk in and ask people.

#1. probably Oct 5 like other schools... but maybe you should give the school a call to make sure
#2. you want to major in animation... film/animation means majoring in film but minoring in animation
#3. if your digital work is really good, add it in (it wouldn't hurt) but I got in the animation program with life drawings and photography.
#4. dorm life... if you want to be in the middle of it all, go for it! especially after your first year since they encourage that you get an apartment (they don't have enough dorms to accomodate all the students that go to UArts-just the first years & transfers) so this would be the easiest way to make friends/find potential future rommies. but if you're strapped for cash, live with family... just get ready that you'll miss out on chilling with people outside your major.

I hope that helped :)

Film/Animation is a bastardized double major. You can't major in Film and minor in Animation(or vica versa).About two people do it at Uarts. It's really hard to balance the workload in something so diff.
